Canada's Stephenville International Airport has returned to operation with a new owner and fuel provider, more than a year after the Newfoundland facility shut down.

The airport closed in June 2025 after its power was cut off amid unpaid bills. It reopened after Stephenville International Airport Corporation, supported by BTG Capital, acquired the facility in June 2026.

The reopening of the fixed-base operator (FBO) marks a step toward reactivating the airport as a technical stop and service destination for domestic and international operators. The FBO has joined the Avfuel network.
