Nuremberg Airport in Germany was briefly shut down on 13 October after a false alarm of a hijacking, according to reports from The New York Times and CNN.
The security response was triggered when an incoming aircraft transmitted an emergency code in error, according to CNN.
Operations at the airport returned to normal once authorities confirmed that no hijacking had taken place.
