Private equity investor AURELIUS has completed its acquisition of Marshall Aerospace, formally separating the British aerospace and defence specialist from the family-owned Marshall Group.

The transaction was finalized on October 8, 2026. It provides the independent capital required to fund the company's mandatory relocation from its historic Cambridge headquarters, where it has been based since 1966.

The move follows Marshall Group's sale of the Cambridge City Airport site for residential development, which requires the aerospace business to vacate by mid-2029.

The deal received clearance under the UK National Security and Investment Act and approval from Austrian antitrust authorities. Marshall Aerospace Chief Executive Bob Baxter described the change of ownership as a new chapter for the independent British aerospace and defence company.
