Archer Aviation announced that its all-electric Midnight eVTOL aircraft has completed a piloted city-to-city roundtrip flight between Salinas and Hollister, California, marking the first stop on the company's No Roads flight tour.
The Midnight flew between Salinas Municipal Airport and Hollister Municipal Airport, with each leg taking roughly 12 minutes. The same journey can take around 40 minutes or more by car, according to the company.
During the flight, the all-electric aircraft reached speeds of 125 mph, cruised at an altitude of 3,550 feet, and covered more than 40 miles roundtrip.
Archer says the tour will continue across Northern California, with planned flights to Monterey, San Martin, San Jose, Oakland, and San Francisco, as it prepares for operations under the White House's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program.
